I had the idea originally for this blog as a kind of life experiment in order to see if the fortunes I got out of the Chinese Cookies that I ate turned out to be accurate. I would not buy the cookies at regular intervals, but rather accept them when and if they came with my meals when I happened to dine out (or in) by myself or with friends. I would track the events of my life with an essay or story about what the fortune meant to me, based on who I am and what I was going through at the time that I received the cookie. Maybe a fortune that seemed irrelevant at the time of opening would later prove prescient. Maybe the lucky numbers would come into play somehow (probably not the "Learn Chinese" vocabulary word though. [idea for a story: a man who learns chinese entirely through fortune cookie vocab words]).
